Nepal Flood Emergency – Latest Update

Nepal is facing a major humanitarian emergency following devastating flash floods and debris flows that struck Rasuwa and surrounding areas on 26 August 2026.

The latest reports indicate 903 deaths, more than 4,200 people missing, over 10,000 rescued, and more than 90,000 people affected. Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Tanahun and Chitwan are among the worst-affected areas, with extensive damage to homes, roads, bridges and critical infrastructure.

Our Emergency Response

Our team is currently in Kathmandu, coordinating with relevant government authorities and local stakeholders to assess needs and identify the worst-affected communities.

Emergency relief distribution will begin very soon in the affected areas, prioritising families with the most urgent needs. Assistance will include ready-to-eat food, drinking water, essential household items, hygiene supplies and other critical relief items based on needs identified on the ground.
