27 Days of Continuous Humanitarian Response

Al Ehsan Charitable Foundation Nepal has completed 27 days of continuous humanitarian response following the devastating floods that affected communities across Nepal.

Since mobilizing within the first days of the disaster, our team has remained actively engaged in assessing urgent needs, coordinating with local communities, procuring essential supplies, and delivering emergency assistance to flood-affected families.

27 Days Continuous humanitarian response
1,770 Families reached
60+ Tonnes Essential relief supplies delivered

Our team continues operating from Kathmandu, coordinating further distributions and preparing to reach additional communities where significant humanitarian needs remain.

Reaching Communities Across the Trishuli Corridor

Our emergency response began with field assessments in affected areas along the Trishuli River, including Devi Ghat, Trishuli Bazaar, and surrounding communities.

The initial assessments highlighted the scale of damage to homes, roads, community infrastructure, and essential services.

As our response progressed, our team expanded its operations to communities across the Trishuli River in Bidur and further toward Betravati.

Reaching these areas presented significant logistical challenges.

Field access: In some instances, journeys of approximately 150–200 kilometres required seven to eight hours because of damaged mountain roads, narrow unpaved routes, slippery mud, and difficult terrain.

Despite these challenges, our team continued transporting essential supplies to affected communities, including families staying in temporary accommodation.

1,770 Families Reached, More Than 60 Tonnes Delivered

During the first 27 days of the response, Al Ehsan Charitable Foundation Nepal delivered essential humanitarian assistance to 1,770 flood-affected families.

The assistance included food supplies, drinking water, hygiene kits, gas stoves, buckets, temporary shelter materials, and other essential household items.

These distributions were supported by ongoing field assessments, local coordination, procurement, transportation, and beneficiary identification.

Our team remains committed to ensuring that assistance is delivered according to identified community needs, particularly in locations where humanitarian access remains difficult.

Our Team Remains in Kathmandu

Although 27 days have passed since the beginning of our response, Al Ehsan Charitable Foundation Nepal continues to maintain its field operations and response coordination in Kathmandu.

Our team is actively engaged in purchasing additional relief supplies, assessing changing humanitarian needs, coordinating with local communities, and preparing further distributions.

Our continued presence allows us to respond to emerging needs and plan additional assistance as road access improves.

Next Priority: Reaching Further Into Rasuwa

One of our next priorities is expanding humanitarian assistance into more remote and flood-affected areas of Rasuwa.

Damaged mountain roads and difficult terrain continue to create significant challenges for transporting relief supplies into some communities.

Our team is working to identify accessible routes, assess outstanding needs, and prepare appropriate logistical arrangements for further distributions.

We aim to expand our response progressively as safe access becomes possible, particularly toward communities that have experienced delays in receiving adequate humanitarian assistance.

Preparing for Colder Weather

As the emergency response continues, the needs of affected families are changing.

Alongside food assistance and hygiene supplies, families may increasingly require improved temporary shelter, warm clothing, blankets, sleeping mats, and other essential items to help them cope with colder conditions.

Al Ehsan Charitable Foundation Nepal is continuing field assessments to identify these needs and develop the next phase of assistance.

Our objective is to support affected families through both immediate relief and the transition toward recovery.

An Invitation to International Humanitarian Partners

Al Ehsan Charitable Foundation Nepal expresses its sincere appreciation to the donors, supporters, volunteers, and humanitarian partners who have contributed to the ongoing flood response.

Their support has enabled our team to maintain its field presence and deliver essential assistance to thousands of people across affected communities.

However, significant needs remain.

We invite international charities, humanitarian organizations, foundations, and institutional donors to collaborate with us in expanding the response, particularly in hard-to-reach communities.

As a locally established humanitarian organization, Al Ehsan can support field assessments, local coordination, procurement, logistics, beneficiary verification, direct implementation, and programme reporting.

Together, we can continue reaching families in need while helping affected communities prepare for recovery.

27 Days on the Ground. Still Reaching. Still Responding.
